Beverly’s association with community choral music in Carroll County began in the
late 70’s when she became the accompanist for the Carroll County Choral Society,
under the direction of Herb Sell. After Mr. Sell retired, the group reorganized as
the Carroll Singers under Beverly’s direction.

Beverly taught choral music in Carroll County Public Schools for 38 years, primarily
at the high school level. Her choirs consistently received superior ratings at district
and state adjudications. She is the pianist/choir director at Emory United Methodist
Church, and is the accompanist for the New Wave Singers of Baltimore. This fall she
will begin at Stevenson University as the director of the University Singers.

Beverly has been involved with community and professional theatre for nearly 50 years.
Locally, she was the long-time musical director for September Song and Theatre-on-the-Hill
productions, as well as productions at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover
Pennsylvania. She toured the US and Puerto Rico with Gilbert Romero and the Bittersweet
Gospel Band, a Christian outreach ensemble, providing keyboards and backup vocals. She
was also the pianist for Siempre Tango, an Argentine tango orchestra, based in the
NOVA/DC area.
